Privacy Policy
Martelo, Inc. ("Martelo," "we," "us" or "our") runs martelo.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the Site, send us a message through it or book a demo from it; how we use and disclose that information; how long we keep it; and the choices and rights you have.
This policy covers the Site only. It does not cover the Martelo platform that our customers use under a subscription agreement: that agreement, and the privacy terms that come with it, govern information in the platform. Your use of the Site is also subject to our Terms of Use.
The short version
- The Site has no accounts, no logins, no payments and no advertising of our own.
- We measure visits with limited analytics: one session cookie, no screen recording and no identifier that outlasts a visit. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the analytics do not load at all.
- We learn your name, company and work email only when you give them to us, through the contact form or the demo scheduler. We use them to answer you and to talk with you about Martelo, and we do not add you to a newsletter or a marketing list.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising.
- The demo scheduler belongs to Calendly, and once it loads it runs Calendly's own cookies and advertising scripts. It loads only when you reach for a Book a demo button.
- Our hosting provider logs every request, with its IP address, for security and to tell real search and AI crawlers from impostors.
Information we collect
We collect personal information in three ways: you give it to us, your browser sends it when you visit, or a service we use sends it to us on your behalf. Each source is described below.
Site analytics
We measure how the Site is used with Datadog Real User Monitoring, a service of Datadog, Inc., which processes the data for us as our service provider and stores it in the United States. It runs on martelo.com only. Preview and staging copies of the Site are not measured, and neither are search engine crawlers or automated browsers.
For each visit it records:
- the pages you view, in order, and the page that referred you, with every value in the web address
removed except the campaign tags on links we publish (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_contentandutm_term); - what you click, named by the visible text of the link or button, never by what you type;
- how quickly pages and their files load and respond, and any errors a page hits;
- your browser, operating system, type of device, window size and type of network connection;
- your IP address, which we use for security, to detect and investigate abusive or automated traffic;
- your approximate location (country, region and city), which Datadog derives from the IP address. This is not precise location;
- that a demo was booked, if you book one, but not who booked it or anything you entered.
It does not record your screen or replay your visit, it does not capture what you type into any field, and it gives you no identifier that lasts beyond one visit. We do not link analytics data to your name or email address. Datadog keeps this data for 30 days and then deletes it.
Server logs
Amazon Web Services, Inc. hosts the Site and delivers it through its CloudFront network, which logs
every request, including requests from crawlers. Each entry records the IP address, the date and
time, the web address requested (including anything after a ? in it), the referring page when
your browser sends one, your browser's user agent, and technical details of the response. The logs
do not record cookies.
We use these logs to operate and secure the Site, to count which pages are read, and to see which search engines and AI services read them. The IP address is what tells a genuine crawler from one using a borrowed name, because the major crawlers publish the addresses they use. A copy of the logs goes to Datadog, which provides our log management.
Fonts
The Site's typeface, Figtree, is served by Google Fonts, a service of Google LLC. To show it, your
browser requests it from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which
gives Google your IP address, your browser's user agent and the address of our Site. Google states
that the Google Fonts API does not set cookies and that it logs these requests, and Google's
privacy policy applies to them. The font loads on every
page, including for browsers that send Global Privacy Control. If you block it, the Site uses a
font already on your device.
Contact form
When you send the contact form, we receive the name, company and work email you enter and, if you write one, your message. The form accepts work addresses only. As you type your email, the form suggests your name and company from it inside your browser: nothing you enter leaves your browser until you press Send.
Our servers email your note to our sales team and do not save it to a database. Our sales team then records our conversation with you, including those details, in HubSpot, our customer relationship management system, provided by HubSpot, Inc. as our service provider. The Site itself runs no HubSpot code.
To limit abuse, our servers count messages by IP address, in memory, for up to 24 hours. Our application logs record a short one-way fingerprint of the address rather than the address itself, and never the content of a note. The logs of our network and firewall record the IP address of every request to our servers, including the one that sends the form.
Demo scheduling
Book a demo opens a scheduling widget provided by Calendly, LLC. What you enter in it (your name, email, the trade you sell into, your message and the time you choose) goes to Calendly, which sends it to us. If you reached the Site through one of our campaign links, its campaign tags go with your booking. If you chose a use case on our Use Cases page, its name is filled in for you. We receive the booking by email and in our Google calendars, record it in HubSpot, and hold the call on Zoom, which processes what it needs to host the meeting under the Zoom privacy statement.
Calendly sets its own cookies and runs its own analytics and marketing scripts as soon as the widget loads. When we last checked, in October 2026, these included scripts from Google (Tag Manager and Analytics), Meta (its pixel), Segment, Braze, Sprig and Stripe, and Calendly's own notice also names Clearbit and session recording tools. Calendly decides which scripts it runs and can change them. Its privacy notice governs them. It says that its cookies could be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under state privacy laws, and that Calendly honors Global Privacy Control where the law requires; Calendly also offers its own cookie settings inside the widget.
To limit this, the widget loads only when you reach for a Book a demo button (your pointer rests on it, you tap it, or it receives keyboard focus), never when a page loads. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or asks to save data, the widget waits until you click. If you prefer not to use Calendly at all, write to demo@martelo.com and we will schedule the call by email.
If you write to us, we receive your message and whatever your email provider sends with it. When the scheduler cannot load, the Site offers a ready-made email to demo@martelo.com, which opens in your own email app; nothing is sent until you send it there.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, passwords or payment details, because the Site has none of those.
- No session recordings, no keystroke logging and no reading of a form before you press Send.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels, Google Analytics, HubSpot tracking code or social media plugins of our own. The only scripts from other companies that run in our pages are Datadog's analytics and, when you reach for it, Calendly's widget, described above.
- No persistent identifiers, device fingerprinting, local storage or tracking of your activity on other websites.
- No precise location. The approximate location above comes from your IP address.
- No sensitive personal information, such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, health information, or information about race, religion or sexual orientation. Please do not send it to us in a message.
- No use of your IP address to identify you or the company you work for.
Other companies can collect information about your activity over time and across websites through the Site in one place only: Calendly's widget, once it loads. Google receives a request for the font on every page, as described under Fonts.

How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate and maintain the Site, and find and fix problems;
- secure the Site and detect and prevent abuse, fraud and automated traffic;
- understand how the Site is used, in aggregate, and improve it;
- see which search engines and AI services read the Site;
- answer your messages, schedule and hold demos, prepare a view of your market for the call, and follow up with you one to one about Martelo;
- comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms of Use, and protect the rights, property and safety of Martelo, our visitors and others.
We do not send a newsletter or marketing email to people who contact us. If that changes, we will update this policy first, and every marketing email will let you unsubscribe. Emails our sales team sends from HubSpot may tell us whether they were opened or whether a link in them was clicked.
We may turn information into aggregated or de-identified form (page view counts, for example). We keep and use it in that form only, and we do not try to identify anyone from it.
How we disclose information
We disclose personal information only as follows:
- Service providers, who process it on our behalf under contracts that limit what they may do with it: Amazon Web Services (hosting, content delivery, and the email that carries contact notes), Datadog (analytics and log management), Google (email and calendars), HubSpot (customer relationship management), Calendly (scheduling) and Zoom (video calls).
- Services acting for themselves. Calendly and the scripts it loads, and Google when it serves the Site's font, receive information directly from your browser and handle it under their own privacy policies, as described above.
- Legal and safety reasons, when we believe in good faith that the law, legal process or a lawful request from a public authority requires it, or that it is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of Martelo, our visitors or others, or to enforce our Terms of Use.
- Business transfers, to a party to a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets or bankruptcy, which must handle it under the commitments in this policy.
- With your consent, or at your direction.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law defines those terms. We do not process it for targeted advertising, or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes (California Civil Code § 1798.83).
Your choices
- Global Privacy Control. We treat this browser signal as a request to opt out: the analytics do not load (no cookie is set and nothing is recorded), and the demo scheduler waits until you click. If you then open the scheduler, Calendly's practices apply.
- Cookies and scripts. You can block them in your browser. If you block cookies for martelo.com, the analytics do not start. The Site works the same either way.
- Do Not Track. The Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals, a standard that was never adopted. It honors Global Privacy Control instead, as described above.
- Scheduling without Calendly. Write to demo@martelo.com and we will schedule the call by email.
- Email from us. Ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and we will.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and the comprehensive privacy laws of other states may give you the right to:
- know whether we process your personal information, and access it, including the categories of information, its sources, our purposes and the categories of recipients described above;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- delete it;
- receive a copy in a portable format;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising and profiling, none of which we do;
- exercise these rights without being treated differently for doing so.
Some of these laws apply only to companies above certain size thresholds. We honor these requests from any visitor, wherever you live.
How to make a request. Write to support@martelo.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. Tell us what you would like us to do and which email address you used with us. We will confirm that we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, up to another 45 days, we will tell you why. To protect you, we verify a request by confirming that you control the email address the information is linked to, and we may ask for more information when we need it. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
We cannot connect site analytics or server logs to a name, so we usually cannot find those records for an access or deletion request. They are deleted on the schedule below.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will answer within 60 days. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state's attorney general.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Site analytics | 30 days |
| Analytics cookie | Expires 4 hours after it was last updated |
| Server, network and firewall logs | 30 days in searchable form, then an archived copy for security and incident investigation, for up to one year |
| The IP count that limits contact form messages | Up to 24 hours, in memory only |
| Contact notes, demo bookings and our correspondence with you | While we have, or may have, a business relationship with you, and then as long as our legal, tax and record keeping obligations require. You can ask us to delete them at any time. |
Information in aggregated or de-identified form may be kept longer.
Security
We protect personal information with reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to its sensitivity. Every page of the Site is served over an encrypted connection, which browsers are told to require. Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it, and our service providers are bound by contract to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
The Site is for businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or sell or share information about anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to support@martelo.com and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
The Site is meant for businesses in the United States, and we process information in the United States. Our team and our service providers may access it from other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on our legitimate interests to run, secure and measure the Site and to answer and follow up with business contacts, on the steps you ask us to take before a contract when you book a demo, and on our legal obligations. You may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Links to other websites
The Site links to websites we do not control, such as Calendly, LinkedIn and the public sources our articles cite. Their own privacy policies apply to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when they are posted here, and the date at the end of this page is the effective date of this version. If we change how we use personal information we have already collected in a way that matters to you, we will give you notice in a prominent way, such as a notice on the Site, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
